Renormalized field theory of polymer solutions : extension to general polydispersity
نویسنده
چکیده
2014 We extend the renormalization group approach to polymer solutions of arbitrary chain length distribution (polydispersity). In the excluded volume limit polydispersity can be classified as neither relevant, irrelevant, nor marginal. The qualitative properties (the exponents) are not influenced by polydispersity. The quantitative results (scaling functions) are influenced, however, and our method allows for a calculation of these effects. Zero-order (mean field theory) results are easily established and show the structure expected from previous 2014 non renormalization group 2014 work. Further our formulation yields general relations among the osmotic pressure and its thermodynamic derivatives, which arise from the renormalization group symmetry. The overlap and polydispersity dependence of these quantities is governed by a single universal function. Tome 41 No 6 JUIN 1980 LE JOURNAL DE PHYSIQUE J. General marginal deformations in open superstring field theory
We construct analytic solutions of open superstring field theory for any exactly marginal deformation in any boundary superconformal field theory when properly renormalized operator products of the marginal operator are given. Our construction is an extension of the general framework for marginal deformations developed in arXiv:0707.4472 for open bosonic string field theory, and the solutions a...
متن کامل0 Polydisperse star polymer solutions
We analyze the effect of polydispersity in the arm number on the effective interactions , structural correlations and the phase behavior of star polymers in a good solvent. The effective interaction potential between two star polymers with different arm numbers is derived using scaling theory. The resulting expression is tested against monomer-resolved molecular dynamics simulations. We find th...
متن کاملEffect of polymer chain-length polydispersity on the phase behavior of model athermal mixtures of colloids and flexible self-excluding polymers
The effect of polymer polydispersity on the fluid–fluid demixing of an athermal mixture of colloids and self-excluding polymers is analysed with the first-order thermodynamic perturbation theory (TPT1) of Wertheim. The colloidal particles and the segments making up the polymer chains are modeled as hard spheres of different diameters. The polydispersity of the polymer is represented by a distri...
متن کاملExact marginality in open string field theory: a general framework
We construct analytic solutions of open bosonic string field theory for any exactly marginal deformation in any boundary conformal field theory when properly renormalized operator products of the marginal operator are given. We explicitly provide such renormalized operator products for a class of marginal deformations which include the deformations of flat D-branes in flat backgrounds by consta...

The purpose of this paper is to prove the existence of a renormalized solution of perturbed elliptic problems$ -operatorname{div}Big(a(x,u,nabla u)+Phi(u) Big)+ g(x,u,nabla u) = mumbox{ in }Omega, $ in the framework of Orlicz-Sobolev spaces without any restriction on the $M$ N-function of the Orlicz spaces, where $-operatorname{div}Big(a(x,u,nabla u)Big)$ is a Leray-Lions operator defined f...
